1. Who we are
fieldmonitor is a market intelligence service operated by Fieldmonitor.ai, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) based in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account data: your name, email address and company name when you register
- Product data: product names, descriptions and URLs you add to the platform
- Usage data: pages visited, features used and session timestamps
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and device information
- Publicly available pricing data: prices and seller information scraped from URLs you provide
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Deliver the Service — monitoring prices and sellers on your behalf
- Send you important service notifications and updates
- Improve the product based on usage patterns
- Process billing and manage your subscription
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under GDPR, we process your data on the following grounds:
- Contract: processing necessary to deliver the Service you signed up for
- Legitimate interest: improving the Service and ensuring security
- Legal obligation: where required by applicable law
5. Data sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate fieldmonitor, including:
- Cloud infrastructure providers (hosting and database)
- Mollie B.V. — our payment service provider, which processes your payment and billing data to handle subscription payments. Mollie acts as an independent controller for payment processing; see Mollie's privacy statement.
- Analytics via Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics (see section 9)
- Error tracking tools (for debugging and reliability)
We have a data processing agreement in place with Mollie and our other processors. We do not sell your data or share it with any other parties without your explicit consent.
6. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Price history data is retained to provide you with historical trend analysis. When you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure password storage and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you promptly in the event of a data breach that affects your personal data.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
To exercise any of these rights, contact us directly. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies & analytics
fieldmonitor uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management. In addition, we use Google Tag Manager to load analytics (such as Google Analytics), which may set cookies to help us understand how our website is used.
Where required by law, non-essential analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you give consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Essential cookies do not require consent.
10. International transfers
Your data is stored on servers within the European Economic Area. If we ever need to transfer data outside the EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email of any material changes. Continued use of the Service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
